The Art of the Find

The Art of the Find

This week’s Sunday Styles is inspired by one of my favorite places, the Pasadena Rose Bowl Flea Market. Many of you may not know this, but I live in Los Angeles and I have been coming here for nearly 20 years. It only happens on the second Sunday of every month, which somehow makes it feel extra special, like a standing date with inspiration you never want to miss. Wandering the rows at sunrise with a coffee in hand feels like pure happiness to me. Flea markets have always been more than shopping. They are memory, texture, color, and story all layered together in the best possible way.

So many of my designs start there. A vintage scarf pattern, a faded postcard, an old enamel mug, a hand painted sign, or a perfectly worn denim jacket. I am endlessly inspired by the way old things carry history and personality. The imperfect lines, the softened colors, the little quirks that make something feel lived in. That sense of discovery is what I try to bring into every print and every collection.

Sunday Social Scene has always been about creating pieces that feel collected, not manufactured. Designs that feel like you found them on a sun drenched Sunday morning tucked between a stack of vinyl records and a rack of vintage tees. There is magic in things that feel nostalgic yet fresh, playful yet timeless.

If you ever wonder where the hearts, stripes, and little details come from, chances are they were sparked by a flea market wander. It is where creativity feels most free, where inspiration hides in unexpected corners, and where I am reminded that the best spaces and wardrobes are built slowly with things you truly love.

Here’s to treasure hunting, layered stories, and bringing a little vintage soul into everyday life.

With love,
Jen
